Did you know?

  1. Yellow Pages directory paper is made from recycled paper (51%) and virgin fibres from sustainably managed forests in Finland
  2. 72% of people recycled their old Yellow Pages directory in 2008
  3. An old Yellow Pages directory makes up just 0.1% of household waste*

Recycling old Yellow Pages

  1. Old Yellow Pages directories can be recycled into all sorts of new materials:
  2. Animal bedding
  3. Cardboard and egg boxes
  4. Packaging and padded envelopes
  5. Home insulation
  6. Newspapers and paper products

Old directories can also be composted – paper adds lots of lovely fibre that stops heaps going all gooey and gungey.

How to recycle?

Yellow Woods Challenge is undergoing a major review and will relaunch in Summer 2010.  To find out how to recycle your Yellow Pages directory in the meantime, use Yell’s local authority locator to find out what’s possible near you or contact your local authority Recycling Officer.
